Dear ERBID Partners,

I am pleased to report that we are making good progress. The majority of the BID Levy has been paid and plans are in place to deliver an ongoing programme of proactive Destination Marketing activities as outlined in the 5 Year ERBID Business Plan.

2017 activities include the Exeter Day Visitor Campaign, new look Experience the English Riviera Resort Guide,  production of two new English Riviera TV Advert/Films, new Social Media Shoulder Season Shortbreak campaign, commissioning of new photography and videos and the development of a new fully mobile responsive English Riviera website

None of this work would have been possible without the English Riviera BID in place.   

In addition a new web site for ERBID Partners has been developed which will provide updated information including details of the ERBID board and the minutes and management accounts presented at our monthly board meetings.......Read more.

New Exeter Campaign is Great Success

Running for 6 weeks up to the 21st April, the new ERBID's first integrated Exeter Campaign targeting Day Visitors has resulted in a 68% uplift on visitors to the English Riviera website.

Promotional activity included:

• Bus Advertising

• Display Boards in Key Locations

• 25,000 targeted door drop

• Radio Advertising

• Integrated Social Media Activity

With key marketing messages focusing on how easy and quick it is to travel to the English Riviera following the opening of the South Devon Link Road, this first Exeter focused campaign has certainly been a success.

 £100K England's Seafood Coast Funding Secured

Aimed at the International Market we are delighted to confirm we have been successful with our bid to VisitEngland/VisitBritain for Continuation Funding.

This means we can now focus on:

• Development of a new Seafood Coast Food Festival

• Development of new Short Break Packages and Visitor Experiences

170,000 'Experience the English Riviera' Guides printed for 2017

Produced in partnership with the ERBID Company and Trinity Mirror (Herald Express), the new look 2017 Experience the English Riviera Guide (previously known as Great Days Out) has been published with an increased print run from 100,000 in 2016 to 170,000 copies for 2017. This publication has played an important part in the new Exeter Campaign with 25,000 copies delivered directly to targeted Exeter Households.

Two New TV Adverts to be Produced

Two New TV Adverts to be Produced

With one of the ERBID's key Business Plan objectives to extend the season and increase occupancy and footfall outside of the school holidays, the ERBID Company will be investing in making two new TV adverts/films targeting the over 55’s and under 35’s specifically.

A Devon based company Soundview Media have been appointed following a competitive tender process to produce the two new adverts with filming taking place early summer.

First ERBID Tourism Exhibition and Conference Hailed a Success

Some 300 delegates pre-registered for the first conference and exhibition at the Riviera International Conference Centre in March titled 'Opportunities for Growth.' 

Following the morning exhibition with over 65  stands taking part, the afternoon conference programme included a very interesting presentation titled 'Opportunities at the Coast' by Samantha Richardson from the National Coastal Academy as the guest speaker.
