Tourism Exhibition and Conference

On Wednesday 15th March we are delighted to confirm that we will be staging the 2017 Tourism Exhibition and Conference entitled Opportunities for Growth at the Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay.

This full day event provides a great networking and information gathering opportunity for all sectors of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry to help boost their own business. Everyone is welcome so please do register and come along with your staff, it will be great to see you. Destination Marketing Projects - Update Feb 17

Destination Marketing Projects

Work has started immediately on planning the delivery of several exciting 2017 ERBID Destination marketing projects with priorities currently focused on:

• New Resort Guide - increase in production to 170,000 and part of new Exeter Marketing Drive. There is ‘Still Time to Advertise’ – Book Now to reach the Exeter market.

• English Riviera Destination Guide - increase in production to 100,000 copies. National requests for guide up significantly on January 2016.

• New Exeter Campaign - Launches Mid March - take a look at the outline programme.

• New English Riviera Web Site - Tell us what you want from the new web site.

Visitor Information Service

The English Riviera Visitor Information Service re-opens Saturday 11th February.

Handling over 130,000 enquiries per year the English Riviera BID Company will continue to operate the English Riviera Visitor Information Centre (VIC) in 2017.

The Centre supports all BID businesses throughout the year by stocking promotional literature FREE OF CHARGE. FREE VISITOR MAPS will continue to be available for both …

The number of visitors to the official website has grown 283% since 2010 reaching a record 1.5 million unique visitors in 2015. The current site however is not fully mobile responsive. The ERBID Company plan to invest in a new modern site in 2017 as highlighted in the ERBID Business Plan.

We will shortly be sending out an important survey asking you to share your views and recommendations regarding future functionality.

Governance and Finance

The ERBID Board held their first monthly Board meeting on the 26th January when Laurence Murrell was elected as Chairman for the first 12 months operation of the ERBID and Martin Brook Vice Chairman. We had a very positive and constructive meeting.

The agenda and minutes of our Board meetings will be posted here once the minutes are approved at the following Board meeting along with a financial statement.
